one should always be reminded, especially when developing activities, of the
                          weakest “links” amongst the membership, lest “survival of the fittest policy”
                          develop. Generally, the Club through diligent adherence with the principles and
                          guides of Probus cater for a range of interests and activities that will satisfy most
                          of the members. Most of the time, ’tis the “devil’s” own job to try and satisfy all
                          the members all of the time. Sometimes meetings can be “sleep inducers”!     It
                          happens at the best of times, and since time immemorial.”

                   Those sentiments would be echoed by a large number of our members, who are now most
                   enthusiastic about Probus in general and our Club in particular.
                          Membership rose by six to 58. The year started at 52, there were nine new
                   members, two resignations and one death. (Author’s note. George Sank resigned from the

                   Probus Club on 9    April 1998, because he and his wife, Joan, moved to Queensland.
