                                        PRESIDENT JACK COFFEY: 1992 - 1993

President Jack Coffey with his Secretary Arthur Geary and Treasurer George Sank

President Jack Coffey installed his new team and thanked everyone for the
successful changeover, with particular thanks to Les and Wilma Wanstall for
the Birthday Cake and Sherry. At this meeting there were a number of
favorable comments on the successful installation of the newly purchased
Amplifying System. Additionally, in conjunction with the Lilydale Garden
Club, mention was also made of a working bee to be held at Laurie

An old identity of the Lilydale district, Laurie had been a very long-standing
member of the Lilydale Horticultural Society – he joined at the age of 16. (The society
was later named the Lilydale Garden Club.) A number of Probus members attended
Laurie’s very large funeral. Some weeks later, 12 members attended another working bee
at the Rogerson’s garden to help Laurie’s widow, Bertha. Laurie had an extensive garden
and the work was getting beyond her.
