The 15 annual general meeting was held at the Lillydale Lake Community Room

on Wednesday 11 March, a day earlier than it would normally be held due to the
unavailability of the Community room at such short notice. Treasurer Bert Milgate
presented his annual financial statement showing a credit balance of $1,291.60, again an
increase on the previous twelve months, this time approximately $144.
President Fred presented his annual report in which he thanked all those members
who had assisted him during the year. He stated inter alia : “All in all, I thought it was a
rather uneventful year, but for the most part, quite enjoyable.”
In the first five or six paragraphs of this chapter it was suggested the reader might
care to decide if the year was uneventful. I think Fred had ‘plenty on his plate’
considering he was the “reluctant President.” Membership numbers started at 53, he
inducted 6 new members, there were 6 resignations and there was one death, end result :
52. This was the third year in succession that there was a net loss in numbers. They were
down 1 in Geoff Paul’s year, 7 in Clive Winnett’s and Fred’s net decrease was also 1.
